Kit review: Lomo Nuotare 3/2mm Ladies Swimming Wetsuit

Reviewed by Kumbi

This wetsuit from Lomo Watersport is designed for outdoor swimming - while not quite as technical as some triathlon suits, it's much more durable and resilient to tears, and so suitable for most outdoor swimmers. It's designed with inclusivity in mind, offering an impressive range of 16 women’s sizes. As someone who often struggles to find wetsuits that fit comfortably, I was thrilled to discover a brand that caters to a broader spectrum of body shapes.

SIZE AND FIT
The Nuotare wetsuit features a super-flexible, stretchy outer material that makes it incredibly easy to put on. The generous sizing allowed me to find a good fit as I have curvy hips, thighs and a generous chest and bum. The wetsuit also has some nice features, such as a long zipper with a cord for easy on and off, a smooth skin collar to prevent chafing, and a small pocket on the leg for storing keys or other essentials.

PERFORMANCE
Once in the water, I noticed a difference compared to traditional swimming or triathlon wetsuits. The absence of a smooth skin coating meant that some water did creep in. However, the combination of 2/3mm neoprene did an excellent job of keeping early autumn and more recently spring chills at bay. Yes, I sacrificed a bit of speed, but the trade-off was worth it for the comfort and inclusive sizing. It is suitable for a wide range of water sports activities, including swimming, open water swimming, triathlon, paddle boarding, kayaking, and bodyboarding. The wetsuit is also easy to care for, as it dries quickly and can be rinsed with fresh water after each use.

PRICE AND VALUE
The Nuotare wetsuit is an absolute bargain. For those of us who don’t fit the typical racing snake mould, this wetsuit offers an affordable and comfortable solution. It’s refreshing to have such a wide range of sizes without compromising quality.

In summary, the Nuotare 3/2mm Ladies Swimming Wetsuit by Lomo is perfect for curvier swimmers who want both comfort and performance. Lomo’s commitment to inclusivity shines through. Well done, Lomo!
