Kit review: TOG 24 Drax Mens Funnel Down Jacket

Reviewed by Andy

I had been looking for a warm, lightweight jacket for ages, even visiting every outdoor shop in Fort William to no avail in my size. TOG24 online seemed to do larger sizes (up to 6XL in this particular coat), so this looked like just the ticket. It was also fairly good value compared to other makes!

FEATURES:
From the TOG24 site: 90% duck down 10% feather, 800 Fill Power, Lightweight, Breathable & Ultra Warm, Zip chest pocket, Reverse entry lower pockets, Toggle adjusters to hem, Jacket packs away into chest pocket. Polyamide outer.

SIZE AND FIT:
I bought a 4xl after looking at the sizing chart, which said it was 55” chest. I’m a 54” chest in a suit, and this fits well, so as to size. There is a bit of room, which I’m very happy with. A 3xl would have been tight! The 6xl goes up to a 61” chest, so great to see they cater for plus sizes so well.

PERFORMANCE:
I’ve worn this a lot during the winter so far this year, and it’s warm enough with a base layer and shirt underneath for daily wear. It’s big enough to take a thick jumper under it too for colder days. It’s definitely windproof, but I’d say only showerproof although they make no claims for water resistance. It’s very lightweight, and does fold into the pocket as they say, which has made a couple of cabin bag trips recently a lot easier. There are no zips on the waist pockets (there is on the chest), but nothing has escaped yet. There is no hood on this jacket, although they do have a similar coat that has.
It hasn’t snagged yet, and I’ve not been particularly careful at all!

Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase, and will use TOG24 again for sure.

RRP £160
