KIT REVIEW : Osprey Tempest 33 litre Extended Fit

This is a versatile lightweight bag from Osprey Europe - it can be used either as a generously sized day sack which will fit all your winter kit, or if you are careful, to pack everything for a two week holiday.
Features
The bag features one main top entry compartment, with a really easy to use drawstring closure. The lid has two pockets, the top one being really generously sized. There are two waterbottle/flask pockets on the side which are really deep and keep a 1l bottle or flask really secure.
Size and Fit
The extended fit version of this bag has a longer hip belt (which will fit up to 70 inch hips), with easily accessible side pockets; one with a zip and one elasticated mesh one. To help you get the fit right, the back length of the bag is adjustable, and the shoulder straps have plenty of length for adjustment.
Performance
This is pretty much my default bag - it’s great for a couple of nights away, a long day hike, your picnic and 2 pairs of fins when free diving, a week of summer travel in Europe (if you pack carefully!). I find the shoulder straps fit me really nicely, and the load feels secure whether the bag is extremely full or by using the compression straps for smaller loads. I prefer to have one big compartment and use packing cubes if I want to keep my things organised - there is more flexibility in what you can carry and less opportunity for losing things in the wrong place. When properly adjusted this is really comfortable for me to carry, pretty much whatever I put in it!
