KIT REVIEW: Trailbloom MTB Trousers and MTB Jersey

Lightweight, quick drying, stretchy mountain biking trousers and long sleeved jersey, available from Trail Bloom in a wide size range.
FEATURES
The MTB trousers are made of a lightweight, stretchy fabric that is water resistant. They have two lovely big pockets that are closed with a zip and an elasticated waistband for comfort. The ankles have a zip and an elasticated cuff to keep the bottoms out of your chainring. The jersey is available in som lovely colours, and made of a quick drying jersey on the front and a mesh fabric on the back.
FIT AND SIZING
I tested a size 22 in both garments, and currently have a 47” bust, a 42” waist and a 54” hip. The measurements given on the website are for the finished garments, and both are made from stretchy fabric so I emailed with my measurements to double check but ordered my usual clothing size. They are available in sizes 8 - 24, and Trail Bloom are planning to expand the range to 6 - 26. I am have very short legs and arms so both the sleeves of the jersey and the trousers are a little long for me. But the elasticated cuff on the trousers means that there is no flapping around my ankles, the waist is nice and high and the the stretch of the fabric allows unrestricted movement. The jersey is slightly loose without being baggy and I just pull up the sleeves slightly so they don’t get in the way riding.
PERFORMANCE
I love riding in both of these garments! The trousers are brilliant for showery days, shedding some of the water and then drying out really fast. The cut of the legs means that if I wanted to I could easily accommodate knee and shin protection underneath them. The jersey is a revelation for gravel riding - the mesh back keeps me nice and ventilated, and having long sleeves means that my arms have a bit of protection as the vegetation gets longer.
